Do you perform food experiments?

Are they more successful than not or the other way around?

My smoked gravy experiment was a huge success, turned out looking really nice(no lumps, creamy texture) and tasted delicious. Thought it might be a little overpowering with the smokiness but it was actually quite subtle and picked up more flavor from the turkey brine than the apple smoke in the smoker. Served it with garlic mashed potatoes, some of the smoked turkey and wilted spinach.

@Rutterman There were no complaints to be had. Some of the people in the household put up a little fuss at the concept of smoked gravy and were very hesitant to try it, but everyone did and it was a unanimous declaration of deliciousness.
