Do you follow cooking instructions on food packets?

I have some frozen broceli and lots of other vegetables in the freezer. It's all boil in a saucepan only according to the instructions though. I very was hungry so thought to hell with the cooking guidance, instead put the broceli and sweetcorn on the baking tray with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt as well as black pepper. And it was the most delicious meal I've had all week.

Why do we follow these silly rules like they are set in stone or something?!

I fix most of my food in the oven. I like to put it all on the same big pan. Side by side.

@Mondayschild Same here. I put everything in the baking tray and check on it according to which will be cooked first.
@CrazyWorld thank you for best answer

You're pretty safe with frozen vegetables, but guidelines are needed for things like meat.

That's just cooking. Do it with fresh broccoli next time!

@CountScrofula I may well do! I buy frozen as it is cheaper.

I rarely do. Just use them as a basic guide line when I do something else.

Some are silly some are there for safety
