Has anyone canned butter?

I've seen and read some varied reports of people canning butter for long term storage. I was thinking if it worked-even just for a 6 month period-that'd be wonderful. Periodically I am able to get my hands on tasty Amish butter, but would like to be able to get more, have it last longer and not lose space in my fridge or freezer. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts 👍🏻

@Oster1 Still worthy of reading and looking up information! I never heard of canning butter until now and there is a lot of information out there.... yet, some say never do that!
I'd give it a go.
