Has anyone canned butter?

I've seen and read some varied reports of people canning butter for long term storage. I was thinking if it worked-even just for a 6 month period-that'd be wonderful. Periodically I am able to get my hands on tasty Amish butter, but would like to be able to get more, have it last longer and not lose space in my fridge or freezer. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts 👍🏻

I wouldn't have thought metal and dairy were a good mix.

@Picklebobble2 By canning here in the USA we usually mean to put foods up in tempered glass jars....home canners have been canning this way for over a century.
