I Wish Things Weren't So Expensive

Just paid £13 ( $20) for a return bus ticket from Norwich to London - 120 miles.
Then another £15 ($23) for the return bus fare to Hertfordshire. - 35 miles. After that it'll be another £10 ($15) for the cab fare to my sons place about 4 miles further on.
Plus any travel whilst I'm there.
All this, having booked in advance so getting the best rates.
Just curious to know if anybody else wonders if this is good or bad by comparison to where you are.
If I had a car I'm sure it wouldn't cost me half this!
