Why would somebody pay 100 million dollars for just some picture?

Why would somebody pay 100 million dollars for just some picture? If I had that much money i wouldn't I would buy a jet and an island in Hawaii and stuff like that. What would you do? Why do they do that?

Maybe the possibility of selling for more and making a profit.

Perhaps it is by an artist they greatly admire and it was their dream to own one of their paintings.
