I Feel Worried About Paying Off My Student Loans

I'm 21, S40,000 in debt, and currently working a low paying job. I'm highly disappointed in my life and the fact that I did not save for college beforehand. Any small amount would've made a significant difference. I look at my boyfriend and his family... they prepared their children for this. Many of them graduated with +$20,000 in their accounts. For the rest of my life I will be burdened by this debt. How can anyone live like this?

I had $26K in student debt, and now I'm down to $24K after 5 years. I just keep busting my butt to make more money to try to get out faster. The only way to make it work out seems to be landing a good paying job, so that's what I'm aiming for. And then, I'm going to prepare my kids for school too. I will preach no debt ever, haha.

It sucks, but definitely isn't the end of the world, the price of a middle class care is more. How many years do you have to pay it back btw?

@expomssseur--the interest is what kills us the most. You're basically paying back 3-10x more. This is sad, but please prepare your children!

@kingkyrie--I have my entire life to pay it back. However, my mission is to pay it all off within 3-7 years.
