I got off track tonight
I really wanna do the film inventory, but it's like i need to come to that awareness and then the next full wake period i get started officially.
You know how the mood sinks when you read through a book of short movie reviews? That's how it is now, it's like being a kid and counting stones on the sidewalk, or like spending too much time with the family, or like sharing a hammock with a lizard, or or a wedding ceremony for puppets, and you're a grown up playing kids games and you're not a parent therefore you're not gifted with doing that sort of thing.
But i believe this phase is for real, the collection phase.
I've told this little tale many times, i started collecting in 2004, and it was the one thing i lived for. Oh i used to get so agitated when my films weren't seen as the brilliant unique things they were by the folks who thought Criminal Minds was the sh*t. If anything is different from those criminal investigation shows that never have swear words, and not one second of people's private parts it was automatically undesirable. haha but i'm not bitter.
It was simpler before i got the internet, the dualism was sharper then, now well anyone would know about the most obscure thing i have because if it's got a release it's not really obscure.
But i'm very proud of my collection, and in 6 days if i continue to binge my discs, i'll be getting 400 dollars more of them.
Physical media is kept alive most assuredly by the boutique labels, ain't no other purchases worthwhile to make.
Still not sure exactly how i'll do my public inventory, but it has to be done, when i started i kept track, but then i lost track, sad tale, but this venture here will gradually right that wrong.
Each post should be really long, something like 200 entries, my guess is that i have around 5,000 films, but i'll never know till i do this, and there should be a sharp distinction between features and shorts. And yes i hate saying shorts because it makes me think that whoever hears that will think i'm talking about underwear.
