Ultra-right-wing yellow journalism site The Gateway Pundit files for bankruptcy

The Gateway Pundit is known for pushing baseless conspiracy theories, like Obama "birtherism," the "stolen" 2020 election, and fake information about COVID. The site was so off the rails, Google demonetized it, reducing its advertising revenue. This on top of several libel lawsuits, including one by Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the Georgia election workers who won a defamation suit against Rudy Giuliani for $148 million, forced the company to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Predictably, Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft whined that he was being "silenced."

While Chapter 11 bankruptcy is for reorganization, the trustee could shut down the company if it's not viable. Hoft says he will continue to publish for now.
