The US dollar has seen a serious decline in value in 2025

Anyone traveling abroad and exchanging dollars for local currency, will feel screwed! I had to travel to see Family for Christmas, and I am losing money left and right from the exchange rate.

People are so used to using the $ as base line, they see the price of everything going up, rather than the actual value of the $US falling. Next year is going to be a wake up call for Americans..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman Silver is now up to $66 a troy ounce, up from about $21 from a year ago, that says everything right there.

@NativePortlander1970 It does. Gold blew out long ago. But shares and real estate are also being used as a value store instead of cash. The dollar should be "revalued" (devalued) in 12 to 18 months..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman I’ve been traveling for years, and I’ve always felt very powerful exchanging dollars for local currency. Not this time, and not in Latin America, the dollar is no longer as powerful as it used to be. The locals are feeling it.
@whowasthatmaskedman Silver has gone up since I checked last week...

@NativePortlander1970 Silver is the "thing" right now with the little guys. Word have trickled down. The next thing to watch is people buying silver certificates, not the actual metal coins or ingots. The prices will drift higher for actual metal..That will tell you when people are shorting silver..Dont go there.. A lot of those Gold certificate buys are going to end in default..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman I do have a buffalo head silver ounce my oldest brother gave me for my 46th birthday in 2016, when it was still only $17.

@NativePortlander1970 Well that makes you better off than some. But not enough to make you one of the rich..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman He actually gave it to me to make colloidal silver with it, I told him fuck no, I'm not turning myself into a smurf. Turning bluish from heavy metal toxicity is common when taking colloidal silver.

@NativePortlander1970 I had not heard that. Although I had heard of taking small doses of silve as some native treatment for something. (Sorry. Not American, so I dont remember who or what.)
