What are realistic ways someone can make $300-$1000 a month outside of their day job?

Have a commune/renter(s) and share living expenses. Even if they have low wage jobs the amount saved in housing and insurance will be a big offset. They should be childless and not be alcoholics or drug addicts and have a clean criminal record. Not saying it will be easy.
