anyone else struggling financially at the moment

i am, i'm only on benefits and have to be really careful when i go grocery shopping tomorrow...there's a lot i can't afford now.....has anyone else been broke like this? how did you get through it?

live off of homemade muffins and homemade soups and breads and stuff. tightwad gazette ( a book) was very helpful to me when my kids were little. recipes and how tos and other ideas to save money. a lot of it is for families but a lot applies to everyone too.
