"Kung fu" means accomplishment through effort or hard work well done.
One of the appeals it has always had for me is that it originated at the Shaolin Temple in China as an aid to meditation. So many kung fu sayings are also zen (I prefer "chan", the Chinese word) sayings.
The Temple was one of the places the imported Buddhism from India blended with the native Taoism and created chan.
But- while the quoted sentiment is appealing, kung fu is really about disciplined effort more than love.
Every day I have to remember what my teacher said to me: "When you stop pushing the rock up the hill, it will roll down over you."
