I Practice Karate

i have been doing it since 4 or 5 years old and i have always gone at least 3 times a week. nower days i go either 3 or 4 times a week depending on what school work i need to do.

what benefits do you get from it? (stamina, mental, social, etc)

@Harunaorekko for me it’s a way to vent my PTSD rage , which is why I started 25 years ago . It also demands mental and physical discipline if you want to master the arts . But there is always something more to learn

Can strike and kick as hard as I can and maintain control . I stopped Taking karate and switched to kick boxing . I was more concerned with self defense in tight spaces or when grabbed from
Behind . Room to work was necessary for karate . Close quarters work made more sense to me with kickboxing . My instructor now teaches both but is heavy into kick boxing . Both are excellent disciplines ! Sparing in kickboxing is just more fun to me now 😉

@Harunaorekko oh I have . But when grabbed from behind or attacked from very close ... I think it’s the combination of techniques from each discipline that I rely on . Kick boxing is lots of knees and elbows and uppercuts . I do feel confident and I can defend my self .
