The Wrong BJJ Mindset
When I get someone that tells me they are not getting pushed at their gym, I just want to slap them.
Not sure what they were wanting to hear from me? or why they thought I would sympathize with them.
What I see is entitled P.O.S!!!! Who is selfish!!! just keeping it real. I hear this more than you will think. sometimes from people that train with me or people wanting to vent about their journey who are not
in my classes!!!!!!
Here is the truth!! No matter what belt you are wearing remember you were once a waste of time for an upper belt every time you rolled with them. The difference is they knew that in order to have great training partners they have to invest time in them, hence why you are on the position you are in.
Not once as a brown belt have I rolled with a lower belt and thought they were a waste of time or not pushing me. I choose these rolls to try new stuff or fix my bad positions.
Yes, you need those tough rounds with upper belts, but you do not spend time working your new stuff or B game stuff with them. you both are playing mostly A Game stuff.
Lower belts is where you get to try new things and work bad positons!!! unless you think they are wasting your time!! Then, I say you are the problem and need to re-think your approach to training!!!!!’
