A great book I've read this year
And current obsession as far as books go, is one called All Tomorrows by C.M. Kösemen.
In the book, a superior alien race called the Qu scatters mankind across the universe as punishment for daring to excel in genetic manipulation. The author speculates on how it would be if over the course of a billion years, each human society evolved to adapt to their specific environments and planets.
Some civilizations becoming far more technology advanced and some becoming even more primal, but all of them far removed from the humans they once were.
As of now, the book only exists as a pdf. I heard the author is planning to publish a physical version and and I'm super eager for that!
