I love the Lord of the rings universe as well, and have since I was a kid. I must say though, going through all 3 of them, 6-8 times in a year is some serious commitment to the work though.

The part where they talk about the creepiness of the tunnels beneath the mountain actually kind of unnerved me when I was a kid.

I've read it many times, beginning in 1967 when I was 17. I once read all 4 books over a three-day holiday. Unfortunately, the movies have ruined it for me. They sucked and now when I think about it it's the movies that are in my head.

@Onestarlitnight They looked exactly the way I imagined them, but the special effects seemed to be all that mattered.
