I read the lord of The Rings Trilogy as therapy for my mental health

It's a wholesome story that always helps to calm my spirits. I've probably been through it six or eight times this year.. I'm almost finished with the Return of The King....
I'll probably start all over again before Christmas.. weird right 😂

I love the Lord of the rings universe as well, and have since I was a kid. I must say though, going through all 3 of them, 6-8 times in a year is some serious commitment to the work though.

May it be always a light for you, in the dark places of the world;)
The part where they talk about the creepiness of the tunnels beneath the mountain actually kind of unnerved me when I was a kid.

I've read it many times, beginning in 1967 when I was 17. I once read all 4 books over a three-day holiday. Unfortunately, the movies have ruined it for me. They sucked and now when I think about it it's the movies that are in my head.
@hunkalove
The movies weren't very good but people who never really read the book loved them 🤣

@Onestarlitnight They looked exactly the way I imagined them, but the special effects seemed to be all that mattered.
those are some of my favorite books

Have you read harry potter? Its my go to novel when i need an escape
@AlyAngel
I haven't.. it seems too contemporary for me.
LOTR is in another world and feels more whimsical and pleasant. 😊
