It's a popular opinion, though usually negative opinions usually get a broader audience than positive ones, maybe because content people don't post that they are content.
For my part, I liked the show as what it was meant for: entertainment based on Tolkien, but no correct Middle Earth documentary show.

@DDonde Long story short, compared to the original trilogy it just feels...poor. Poor, boring and sometimes so painfully inaccurate
