I'm sure you aren't the only one. How many books are in the series and how many sold before RDM (Ronald D. Moore-- I know him from other excellent things he made happen) was finally involved to make it into a Starz series? :O

I don't know Ronald D. Moore...I had not started the book when the movie came out on starz...darn it..

RDM on IMDB and on Wikipedia. Among other thing, he worked on several flavors of Star Trek and my favorite, the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, giving it a more grown-up and exotic feel.
