It still strikes me as weird that in some places schools start in August.

For me August is THE holiday month. I don't care about what happens on any other month, but I would feel like I'm in parallel universe if I saw kids going to school in AUGUST.

The schools started up here Friday before last. I think it’s way too early but they are doing it this way due to having air conditioning in all of the schools now. When I was going to school here they started around the first of September. I remember enrollment was about the 23rd or 24th of August one year.
