It still strikes me as weird that in some places schools start in August.

For me August is THE holiday month. I don't care about what happens on any other month, but I would feel like I'm in parallel universe if I saw kids going to school in AUGUST.

I grew up in the 80s/90s in the US, grad '99)
and even I find it nuts they now start in the Middle of August....

@HannibalAteMeOut yeah they changed it, there is a national/ bank holiday hear, the first week of September I Never went to school before that holiday.
