Eleven distinct short stories interweave. They all have a twist that embrace passion and cruelty.

Then perhaps move on to the Diving Pool. Again much the same themes. They are easy to read, but you get hooked.

The Memory Police is lighter, but more sadistic is the chilling Iris Hotel.
