Pissing under the shower is very wide-spread. But who else uses the sink? I highly recommend it, at least for guys. It's probably less convenient when you don't have a dick.
It's (potentially) very clean, even more clean than pissing in the toilet (while standing up), because you can't possibly miss, and there's less area for the the little droplets to cover. I personally go a little further and hold my off-hand over the end of my dick like a shroud, to absolutely make sure that no droplets or mist can go anywhere but down, and potentially hit the soap/toothbrush/etc. Then I just rinse off my hand, my cock, and splash some water inside the sink to rinse that off too. Don't try to save too much water, because you have to flush out the trap. If any urine remains in there, it will start to smell. Also, even if you don't clean the sink properly afterwards, who really cares? It's not like you're eating out of there.

I have actually tried out the kitchen sink too. Great fun, especially when there's dirty dishes in there. But it's something I rarely do. For one thing, it rarely enters my mind.
