The terms "adult diapers" and "fashion show" are concepts that at first glance do not seem to belong together. But an unconventional event at the World Expo in Osaka brought together seven diaper manufacturers and an underwear company to showcase innovative diaper designs. The initiative was aimed at alleviating the apprehensions some individuals have about wearing the products.
The models in the show were selected through an open call and featured a diverse group of people of all ages and genders. The diapers, made of paper and fabric, looked stylish enough to wear on their own. About 2,000 people packed the venue.
One visitor remarked, "I used to think diapers were embarrassing, but seeing the show made me realize they can be viewed as a form of fashion — that was a revelation."
Another visitor said, "The models walking with such pride looked so cool."
