I Never Wear Shoes In the House

I feel like in the UK it's a half-and-half situation where some people do keep their shoes on in their homes and some don't, idk feel free to correct me about that, but I definitely prefer taking my shoes off especially if there's carpet because I don't want to get it dirty. Plus wearing shoes isn't as comfortable as socks imo.

I'm in the uk and just about everyone I've known has taken their shoes off in the house. Not everyone has expected their guests to remove shoes.
I live in a rural area now and it's normal to remove shoes. I'm in the process of buying a new house. The carpets are a very light , and in pristine condition. Shoes will not be getting past the doorway.
