I Like People Who Take Off Their Shoes Before Entering A Home

Don't you think the way were brought up often determines how we live as adults
Growing up, shoes always came off at the door( or else)When visiting we did the same.
So it's natural for me to remove shoes
My partner wasn't brought up to remove shoes. But she's always expected her family to remove them. Guests could leave them on
She's had new lovely carpets through her house and seen how effective my shoes off policy has been at keeping my carpets clean. So she's now firmly in the shoes off camp and even has a sign up.

I will never understand people who don't take their shoes off right after they enter a house or an apartment. It's...yuck.

@CrazyMusicLover absolutely. It's very cold here at present and my guests bring their slippers. I take mine to theirs when I visit. It's polite and comfortable.

@mazza62 We usually just walk around in socks which could be considered unsanitary too but leaving shoes on is unacceptable. It would be beyond rude. I don't say I absolutely never do that at home but since we have carpets everywhere, I always feel dirty doing it.

I agree. We have carpets and polished floors. The hard floors are deadly in socks and the are freezing at this time of year in bare feet. So slippers are essential.
