There's this guy who thinks 5'9,5'10,and 5'11 are short/average heights and that average is irrevelant that true?
He said you have to be at least 6'0 I'm 5'9-5'10

No it is not true and shows by offering a range that he does not understand "average", "mean", and related terms. He might be unusually tall and is very self-conscious about it.
