Depends on the type. I only buy the kind that I can machine wash and I usually put them in with a load of jeans, I think it helps them get pushed down to the bottom by the agitator so they don’t float on the top.

@BittersweetPotato If they were mine I’d be spraying shaving cream on them and scrubbing them with a brush before putting them in the washer.

Good tip, may try that. Thank you :) @cherokeepatti

Done this loads of times they come out a bit scuffed looking but otherwise ok. I've heard it said if you tie them into a pillowcase it stops that but I've never bothered. If you want to clean them because they smell, you'll get a couple of weeks out of them before the smell is back. It's the glue they use that stinks, my theory is the manufacturers know but won't change it because you have to buy new trainers or live with it. Conspiracy theory.

No they don't smell at all, they just look dirty from the rain@GeniUs

You should be able to wash them. Take the laces out of them. You can try soaking them in a bucket too.

@BittersweetPotato Not if you`re going to give me the stink eye. 😅

@Lostpoet I take them out of the washer and towel dry them with a small town and the place them on an air vent (in the winter when the heater fan is on) to dry them quicker. In the summer I put them out on a table in the sun room and the heat out there dries them quickly.

@cherokeepatti good ideas 💡

We have done that. Our only problem was with the dryer. The sneakers were banging around and kept popping the door open!
