Ear piercing at Claire's?

Is it worth it?

No Claire's uses a piercing gun and this causes blunt trauma to your ear and it's not a big deal if you're just doing the lobe although it is traumatic and healing takes longer.
Sometimes you'll feel a little knot of scar tissue but you usually get a much better piercing from one of the tattoo shops using a plain sharp needle.
@REMsleep That’s good to know. I’m considering getting my second piercing redone, one has closed.

@bijouxbroussard About 20 years ago I got my cartilage pierced at Claire's using the gun because I didn't know any better which now they won't even do cartilage piercings anymore..

My ear would always hurt & there was a little knot inside of my ear behind the piercing and for years if I wore certain earrings it was always hurting and I found out it is not acceptable to pierce cartilage with an earing in a gun because it doesn't have any sharp edge.
I finally let it close up and then a few years later went and got it redone the right way. Never even hurt. Healed within a few weeks, knot went away.

If you are just doing the ear lobe its not quite as important but still not as good as a needle.
