Advice could have been more helpful.

Finally got time to go to the piercing shop. I got four new holes in my ear cartilage, two on each side. I was told I shouldn’t put a hole in the top of my ear because my glasses would rub and irritate it, however I think more useful advice would have been to choose ONE ear. Now I get to pick which sore ear I want smooshed into a pillow.

Not sure if you know this but, you could just try laying on your back head on pillow neither ear 👂 turned into the pillow.

@2cool4school I could it’s just weirdly uncomfortable since I typically sleep on my right side. 👍🏻

@Powderflask I’ve read that for truly healthy sleep a person should sleep on both sides and their back at different stages in their sleep session. It was basically stating that because humans have slightly different anatomy from right to left side and therefore you breath differently and your heart pumps differently depending upon the position of the sleeper and that all 3 (sides and back) are required for a well balanced restorative type of sleep. I can attest to sleeping deeper on my left but I’m more drawn out of habit(?) to sleep on my right. However I can’t distinguish between the fact that I broke my right collarbone and have a few lower back injuries that make both right and backside sleeping harder and less comfortable. I’m also only able to lay on my left shoulder for a few hours and 4 is about the most my chronic pain will let me sleep anyways.
I’m only mentioning that you could try and change your habits as I only noticed that I slept best on my right side in the past 2 years at most because of my habit of always sleeping on my back or my right and now my short sleep sessions have improved in quality (as well as adding copious amounts of melatonin).
