Mainly for the ladies: Do you wear leggings as pants or do you always wear long sweaters and tunics over them?

I was today years old when I heard that leggings are only pants when you’re at the gym, which seems ridiculous. If I have an errand to run before or after the gym or any athletic based event I’m not going out of my way to cover my @ss. Hell I don’t even think you need a reason. But I am very accustomed to wearing them in such an athletic way it never occurred to me I shouldn’t wear them anywhere else.

I like to layer.. gives me the choice to show what i want, to who i want to see it
i wear tight sexy things a lot, but I always have a wrap of some kind, I like the slow reveal AND the abilty not to show at all

Thin ones always with a skirt/dress, thick winter ones without anything over them. There are different types of leggings and some are obviously designed that way that there is not meant any other layer over them.

@DoubleRings I didn't know there was that kind of...ehm..movement. People get worked up over anything. Aren't yoga pants...leggings? 🤔 Why are they called pants then?

I’m not sure about yoga pants tbh. I have yoga pants that are loose at the bottom. I wear them as pants even to work. Tights and leggings are narrow at the ankle imo. But are they called yoga pants too?? @CrazyMusicLover

Either way I have (had?) no qualms about wearing leggings without layers… didn’t know it was wrong. I wouldn’t wear them to formal places or to church or something but I def would to go shopping or run errands. Who cares??

@DoubleRings I see women in leggings all around and couldn't care less. I don't know why some people have a problem with it unless it's really too revealing and vulgar.

Well you can wear anything over them Like a tunic a dress a skirt etc. Even one of those wierd pieces that look like someone threw a table cloth over your shoulders but whatever you do , you cannot show your bum/crotch area according to what I read. @Spoiledbrat lol then why would I ever wear them? That’s the whole point. To show off my figure imo!

Right? Well guys also wear leggings - in athletic settings primarily but I’m sure no one would tell them to layer up if they are going grocery shopping after a workout…. @nedkelly
