Are you a fidgety person?

I’ve always had this weird thing where my hands have to be doing something for comfort. Perhaps it’s tied to my anxiety. Who knows.

But on the way to town the other day, I couldn’t leave this pronounce center seam alone. They’ve become my favorite jeans because of that soothing feature, which is entirely too odd to just throw out there but eh. It’s a legit 🫠 moment.

@Bexsy I wear a set of necklaces for comfort. Go figure 😄
@PerfectionOfTheHeart we do same.
But opposite. I have my ring for comfort..you your necklaces

@Bexsy Together we make an almost capable at life person 😄🤪
RebelRaven · 51-55, F
Yes! I don’t stop moving something when I’m sitting.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
I feel ya. I do a similar thing.
ineedadrink · 56-60, M
Yep, I get this. For a while I could not grow a beard or mustache because once I could feel it on my face I would start fidgeting with it. Actually wore a bald spot on my lip one time. I'm not that bad anymore. But close to it. 😅
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@ineedadrink Haha. I totally get that. I twirl my curls way more than a grown woman should. It’s once of the reasons I straighten them so often.
ineedadrink · 56-60, M
@PerfectionOfTheHeart But I will say that an outward manifestation of stress is so much better than keeping it in. May end up getting ulcers or in my case diverticulitis resulting in having some innards taken out. So twirl, baby, twirl. Get that hair ready for a big Saturday night date. 😁
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@ineedadrink Oh, I definitely learned that the hard way when I suffered a panic attack that changed my whole world. Learning to care less about so many things is harder than I thought it would be, but it’s needed for survival these days…especially in a world filled with so much noise.

Haha a Saturday night date. What’s that? 🤪
ThatGuyinHeels · 31-35, M
Yep. ADHD, so… yeah. I fidget a lot. Even in my sleep, apparently, according to my ex.
shakemeup · 36-40
I am 100 percent a fiddly person.
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
Does it still work if someone else rubs it ? Asking for a friend. 🤭
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@BrandNewMan Haha 🤪. I will say that when I was in the romantic phase of being a passenger princess, I’d often trace the creases of his jeans. It was so soothing and a weird way of connecting deeper.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart Lol. My hand on her left knee while I'm driving is my favorite "fidget spinner"
MyNameIsHurl · 46-50, F
We all have our things I think
I tend to jiggle my legs while sitting.
I'm exactly the same, my wife is constantly berating me for fiddling. And heaven forbid I should sit within reach of anything wicker, or brittle.
I just tap mine a lot. Moving them for comfort, like that.
WasEP · 51-55, M
You need a widget spinner too. 😂
In my peak stress/anxiety times my feet were like boat propellers in bed. I'm surprised I didn't take off. Non stop kicking.
@PerfectionOfTheHeart my knee still does. Always been a nervous habit. The more agitated i am.. faster it goes
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@Bexsy I don’t know why mine just stopped being a thing. But I do know my whole body shakes slightly when I get agitated. It’s like the energy that was focused to my knee spread out.
ineedadrink · 56-60, M
@Bexsy You know, I just remembered that I used to do that constantly in a classroom setting. Now, besides not being in a classroom setting anymore, it's too much work and I'm too lazy. 😁
I think alot of girls/women are like that. From what I've observed...

Most of them play with their clothes or bags
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Like plucking a guitar string. Just has to be done. ;)
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@PerfectionOfTheHeart Bass riff for smoke on the water?
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@Degbeme I hate that I know every part of that sentence 👵
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@PerfectionOfTheHeart You have just made my heart smile. 🥰
I can’t tell you how many jeans I’ve ruined from picking at a small designer rip and just tearing it apart in an attempts to keep my hands busy. I almost always have something in my hands a pen or fidget or something.
@ineedadrink shhh 🤫 🤐

@MyMonstersAreReal Ripped/frayed jeans are so 🥴 to anxious fingers. I often…hold on. Visual context to get it right.
Okay, so the knee holes. My fingers will dive under the remaining lines of fabric just to feel their softness…their delicateness. It’s a calming technique I didn’t know I actually did until this post made me dive a little deeper. Crazy.
Magenta · F
No not in that sense, but I do tend to tap or bounce my foot, especially if I have to sit for too long a time.
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
@Magenta Same. Drove my Dad crazy as a teenager making the car shake sitting at a light.
Magenta · F
@BrandNewMan Since it's marked as nudity, did you forget the image? 😄😏
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
@Magenta Lol .. nope .. purely accidental
