I Love Fashion

I know the trend today is often just leggings and boots with a long top. I'm wondering if there are any outdoor hiker girly girls/gurls that like this look? I have similar and enjoy wearing it out hiking or snow shoeing in the winter months or apre ski to get out of my ski pants for drinks at the mahogany run

Looks impractical to be honest.
Practicality has nothing to do with dressing up! If it did we would simply wear sacks!
@JoanieNewHampshire: Well, you said outdoorsy/hiking/skiing types, and practicality has a lot to do with those activities...
That is true, as does style and flair! Who needs a lime green Mohawk on their ski helmet? But they exist@mar3sword:
So now, practicality. Skirts are a divice of modesty. I choose to be a bit more modest the just leggings apre' ski. The cute quilts skirt provides that modesty there and on the hiking trails
@JoanieNewHampshire: Understood. Being a man I have never worn a skirt, but my first inclination was that it would be impractical for skiing/hiking... I could be wrong.
Nothing like hiking in a skirt, you should try it. Actually many male AT through hikers have adapted to the concept! Least we forget the Romans and the Greeks! Skirts allowed far more movement! Well trousers hadn't been invented yet, but still@mar3sword:
@JoanieNewHampshire: I think that trousers allow more movement in terms of stepping up high and climbing and such... I could be wrong. I don't think I will try it, thank you though, just doesn't tickle my fancy. I like my pants.
You've never worn a skirt, so your opinion is incomplete@mar3sword:
Then simply wear pants! I wasn't demanding that you wear a skirt, just saying
@JoanieNewHampshire: Please, I didn't mean to start a fight. I just said what I thought...
I understand you were just being pragmatic. Life is much more the what pragmatists think, really it is. 😋
@mar3sword: fight? Never! Word sparing, perhaps? Adult dialogue to educate another's rational in formulating an opinion? Yeah!
@JoanieNewHampshire: Word sparing...I like that. Pants have pockets! Bam! And mar3sword is the winner! ;) Joking...ish
And I carry a ruck sack that doesn't encumber my movement as much as things in my pockets would! Kaboom! @mar3sword:
@JoanieNewHampshire: But as I get colder and warmer I need to take off and put on my toque/gloves and as I get hungry need to eat. Snacks/gloves/toque fit in pockets meaning I don't have to stop. Kablam!
Nuclear question, you're assuming I have to stop to get something from my pack! Scorched earth!@mar3sword:
But it is easier to just remove it from your pocket. Phone, compass, map, gloves, snacks, gps...
I hate shit in my pocket! It bugs me, it interrupts my experience, it causes constant distractions!

My point! Enjoy your pockets, I and those like us will enjoy our skirts. Btw. If I wore just leggings. Many women do, I'd still have no pockets.. And too, my skirt, like the one illustrated has a pocket. I keep my license cc and cash there incase my pack should fall off a cliff. My keys I leave hidden at my car
I can imagine that shit would be pretty bad to have in your pockets, I don't recommend putting it there. It will smell pretty bad too.

Yes, let us wear what we prefer... ;)
