I, like many other men, have a strong feminine side. There are several ways this side can manifest; one is dressing in feminine attire. I don't look feminine and could never pass, but my feminine side is strong and the need to dress feminine is also strong. Only I dress in private, in my own house & with the curtains drawn closed.
The more feminine the clothing, the stronger my feminine side emerges.
I have several other feminine traits, but I am genetically male. I don't want to become female, nor am I interested in men sexually.

@Jessie407 Male feminity has nothing to do with homosexuality. I can understand that. However, I would like to know more about the female persona that is hidden behind.
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@nilammagi Everyone has both, no matter whether you're genetically male or female. Many females have the need to dress in male attire and society accepts it readily, but if a male is seen in public dressed in feminine attire, it is assumed by society that he is homosexual or bisexual.
Many traits manifest in people in many ways: women working in construction, men working in fashion design. These have nothing to do with personal sexuality, but are assumed to be either a male trait or a female trait.
Does this help?

@Jessie407 Yes, I understand. The society is biased. Feminine attributes in males or to be more precise male feminity is discouraged. I think the society should be more open so that more males can enjoy their feminity. And here lies the big question.....

Why is househusband a taboo and housewife not?
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@nilammagi Thank you for your balanced opinion.
Women have been wearing pants (jeans, slacks, coveralls) for decades & nothing is said about it. But if a man wears a dress or skirt because that is the way he is more comfortable, society has a fit!
It's just clothing!
Feminine attire is simply more comfortable for me. I feel very uncomfortable in jeans & T-shirts, but it's what society (including my wife) expect me to wear & it's the only things they will accept me (and other men) wearing!

@Jessie407 See, the society view feminism as a weakness. I so called feminist have made things worse. Women in today's society are economically independent. However, they don't like men to be dependent on them. If you see a husband is having lower income than his wife, then that man has to suffer. Women will not take responsibilities of their men. That is why feminism is not considered strong yet. If women take the responsibility, then that day feminity will be considered strong. Men will be considered weaker sex. I believe, live and preach this view to every woman, however very few understand the wider implications. Everyone is interested in a short-term goal.

@Jessie407 I think like you said a lot of men feel that way but we are raised to think this is weak and un acceptable . That's why I bring the subject up whenever I can. Thanks for chating with me about this . There is nothing wrong in wearing clothes .
nilammagi · 46-50, F
@Repete Very good answer.
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@Repete I am the youngest of twelve, with the only female being number eleven. My parents were hoping for another girl with me so I could be a playmate for her. Little did they realize that I would be anyway! She dressed me up in her clothes & let me wear her nighties to bed & her panties during the day! I guess you could say that she was a main catalyst in bringing out my feminine side!

@nilammagi there's a taboo that should be changed in my opinion. In many ways and in many homes the man is doing more housework .now my brain just changed tracks ( that's bad because I only have one track mind) I'm not sure if either house wife or house husband is a good thing . Neither wants to be married to the house but the work needs to be done.

I'm jealous ( not really but) I'm an only child I had to agravate my girl cousins . 😂 @Jessie407
nilammagi · 46-50, F
@Repete I know what you are trying to say. I know that men's rights are not talked about. I know how many men are oppressed by women, there is domestic violence. I know it all. But no one cares because men are considered strong. If men were considered weak, that is, need to be protected then they would have been sympathy. So, its time to change.
Repete · 61-69, M
I think I agree but neither male or female should have to be or feel weak. We are all people first . Yes it's good to have someone to lean on when you are tired but it takes both weak and strong because no one can be the strong one all the time. In my opinion we have to accept people as they are to a point further down the road than what they wear . Clothes are only to cover the body.how do you cover the person ? @nilammagi
nilammagi · 46-50, F
@Repete Yes, that what I am also saying men are both weak and strong. So weak men need to be protected. Also, clothes don't dictate weak and strong.
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@nilammagi Agreed. However, I have several masculine traits as well. I am an electronics technician, I work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing & siding, and concrete work. But, I also enjoy shopping, doing housework & laundry.
I have always had a larger income than my wife. About the only masculine traits I don'e have are a love for sports and alcohol; I hate both!
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@Repete HA-HA! Don't be jealous! She could be a real pain, too! Many times after she gave me several pairs of her panties & some nylon slips to enjoy, she screamed at me and said I had too many & didn't leave any for her to wear! I said "But you gave them to me to wear! I was going to give them back later!"; but she grabbed everything & stormed off! She would always apologize later saying she was under a lot of stress & she would give me a nylon baby-doll & panties to sleep in.
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@nilammagi Just as some women are weak & require assistance while other women are strong & require no one's help.
Repete · 61-69, M
Lol yep my cousins was similar. I had to stay with them many times growing up my aunt was basicly my babysitter . My cousins were about my age one younger 2 older and no boys . That made things interesting 😂 @Jessie407
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@Repete I bet it did! LOL!
Repete · 61-69, M
Most need help sometimes but put on that male mask and won't let anyone know they are hurting also. @Jessie407
Jessie407 · 70-79, M
@Repete Very true. And that's because of the labels put on them by society.
Repete · 61-69, M
100% agree @Jessie407

@dunpender Agreed. Statistics have shown that 95 to 99% of male crossdressers are 100% straight sexually. We simply have a strong feminine side & we also enjoy everything about women! Including their clothes.
Repete · 61-69, M
To the people that crossdress I agree but to others I'm not sure if it's so well known or maybe it is but that assumption is hard to overcome to many people . Labels hurt sometimes and are not always even close to being accurate @dunpender
