Everyone picks on everyone for everything. Just gotta realize it's happening and not care.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Yeah, I know you’re right, I shouldn’t let it get to me. @ScreamingFox

I'm not familiar with any stereotype around it. I just associate it with my childhood because that's when I wore one the last time. It was a big thing in 1999 and early 2000s.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Ah ok, I get you. 😊@CrazyMusicLover

Why should there even be any sort of "stereotype"? If women want to wear headbands, let 'em! It's their choice. Whatever some nobody on some social(?)-medium says.
If those two shops stock those particular garments, it's because they know there are enough people choosing to buy them.
Simple as that.

I actually love hairbands and bandanas. Gorgeous much?
Why is it upsetting at all? The Internet at large has stupid opinions all the time then changes its mind on a whim. A year from now they'll be talking about pairing those same accessories with stuff and bringing them back again. None of it means anything. You literally don't have to care and I'm sure she's lovely as she is. 🤷🏾

Yes, I know you’re right and that I shouldn’t dwell too much on it. I know it’s a bit shallow, but style/fashion is really important to both of us and the thought that people are mocking her does hurt a little bit. I’ll try to be strong and ignore it though. Thankyou. @DancingStarGoddess

@DancingStarGoddess I think you are spot on. It’s like looking at google search and hoping to see something useful or hoping that the Sunday paper supplements will be worth reading. Often the journalists are so desperate they s

@Strongtea you're very welcome I understand, but i don't think they're directly making fun if "her" as you say, just people who happen to wear those things and odds are whomever made it are probs just jealous. it's a form of fashion and a "look" of it's own. just someone decided to pick at the look to be a hater is all.

hmmm i wouldn't know .. she wants to go for a certain look and they want to make fun of that certain look type .. do you think it's personal or just.. general mocking of posh type persons?
Strongtea · 22-25, M
I think it was just general mocking of posh girls, but it was weird how specific it was to how she dresses and the brands she wears. One of the comments was ‘the hairband says it all’. And I listened to a drama podcast a couple of years ago that said ‘the type of girl who wears Alice bands’ in a derogatory manor. I didn’t know it was a thing. @YoMomma
