Runs in pantyhose/tights

Any tips on how I can avoid these? I hate getting dressed up for events/parties etc, only to ruin it at times by getting a run in a new or pair.

While I cant offer any tips other than spraying a light layer of hair spray on them before putting them on...Im at least glad to hear some ladies still know how to dress to impress. It's very classy.
