While black goes with anything, maybe for the current season, tan would be nice.
I think that if they are loose tan pants, it's a good look for work. If it's fitted tan pants, I'd wear a longish top with it like maybe a white dress shirt. I avoid wearing tight-fitting tan pants with short tops because this color kind of disappears that from a distance, it makes one look as if they aren't wearing any pants and getting double-take looks from people lol. ...like this on the left. I prefer a looser fit for light colored pants like the one on the right.
