Is double denim ever acceptable?

I’m going out today and I’m wearing light coloured jeans and maybe a darker coloured denim shirt (mainly because I can’t be bothered to iron another one.)
Is this a total no no?

I don't get to use this phrase very often, but I can't resist here:

"When I was your age" , that look was considered very cool.

So you can conclude one of two things: either it will make you look cool, or it will make you look my age! 😄
