I prefer barefoot boys myself, so I'm not sure if my opinion is valid,
but they do look like a chunky version of Mary-Janes so I'd say no.

Yeah, I suppose they do look like Mary Janes. Gonna be honest, I think Mary Janes are really nice!
I do think the chunkyness makes them a bit more boyish though, but I take your point. @onewithshoes
