I know I’ve talked about this sort of thing sooooo many times before

I’m sorry to be boring, I think I just need to vent.

One of our friends said something pretty harsh to me on Saturday about how my girlf looks/dresses. It hurt but I know it shouldn’t. I know I should say something to them and stick up for her, but we don’t have many friends and I don’t want to lose any more.

Well too be fair she dresses tacky sometimes just because some things are brand names doesn't mean they are suitable or look good together .. i think looks and style are too important to you and people don't always mean anything mean by commenting 😬 just speaking their mind but i guess it can be offensive if it's a sensitive topic or issue for you 😬😏 she dresses how she likes and it's not conventional.. but that's just who she is 😬😏 my mom is also a tacky dresser at times 😏

Hmmmm, I suppose everyone has been saying that so there must be an element of truth. She won’t wear anything that isn’t a certain brand and yes it is very important to us. It’s hard to hear, but you are always honest with me so I do value your opinion. @YoMomma

@Strongtea I also like fashion but a lot of stuff even in the industry is tacky and ridiculous, i personally don't care about brands but fit and style as to what goes together in a complementary and cohesive way .. but everyone has their own fancies.. i like things that are practical and useful as well as comfortable and beautiful.. i understand that some people fancy name brands for their high style and such but it's not always flattering for every situation.. style is an element of beauty but not everyone desires the same look; what looks good to one person may not to another.. so it's all subjected to whim

You have put that really well, I think she’s guided quite a lot by her mum as they both have a lot of the same clothes. They both pretty much wear head to toe Ralph Lauren. Maybe she’ll dress a bit differently as she gets older. @YoMomma

Yes maybe, being totally honest, I really like her style mostly, sometimes she wears things that are unflattering for her. All the negative comments about her say things like ‘she dresses like a grandma’ or ‘she looks like the most boring person ever’ or she’s snobby/stuck up/tacky etc but she is really obsessed with what she wears and I suppose I don’t really want her to change too much. I just wish people would like what she wears. Maybe we need everyone else to change lol! @YoMomma
