I’m sure I would have complimented how it flattered her figure (in a polite way). But I felt weird saying it to her directly.
I'm glad you didn't say that to her. "you look really nice", is polite enough. I wouldn't mention a ladies figure at work.

@Harmonium1923 I could see the concern there, with the compliment being taken in some sort of negative way. I’m sure coming off as a creep is the last thing you would want, so rather say nothing at all.
Even other women hardly ever compliment me in reality… i often think it’s because I’m quiet and seem closed off/unapproachable or even down right weird. Or maybe I just often look plain/average so I just blend in? Haha.
Online people are more apt to compliment others and speak out more… or maybe even lie. So I guess it makes sense I would receive more compliments online than I do walking around somewhere/in public.

post what you wore? I'm sure you looked nice too. I once was in earshot of someone getting their outfit complimented. When I turned to look, she had on jeans and the most basic sweater...lol so Idk...
I don't get compliments often, and that's fine because they kinda make me feel awkward, depending on what it is.

Maybe you need a fashion coordinator. My wife's taste in clothes is not as good as mine. She can wear a dress or shirt she likes and will 0 compliments. If she wears a dress or shirt that I suggest she will often get complimented. I can tell what looks good on her but she can't.

If you feel insecure enough about it to need affirmation, then the best way to get a compliment is to give a compliment.😷

Call a local Chanel (one per big city at best), ask if they have a makeup artist.
Go, sit, the gay guy will do you up. Copy down what he uses on paper. Usually I heard stuff while working security there like "You saved my life" or "You just saved my marriage". Hollywood heavily recruit these specific guys to work on movie crews.
If your face looks nice, your dress looks nice. If your face doesn't look nice, your dress isn't going to be noticed. It's unfair, yes, I agree. That's what you gotta do though if up against women with better natural advantages. I wouldn't make a very good woman.
