Regardless of any comments or what anybody thinks, you should dress for your comfort. And how you are dressed is no invitation for unwanted attention. You just be yourself.

Doesn't wearing the lab coat mean that for work colleagues it is pretty irrelevant what you have on underneath?

I used to wear a suit for work in an office too and i still think that both men and women can look really good in a suit. However if you are working in a laboratory all day with a (white?) lab coat on the suit isn't really much use ....

I'm also old enough to remember organisations where women weren't allowed to wear trousers for work and whilst a woman's work suit with a skirt rather than trousers looks ok, i think a woman's suit with trousers looks a load better.

I can relate to this usually I wear goth clothes or alt outfits. Just wear whatever you like darlin and don't spend your life worrying about what others think of you, I don't follow my own advice but do you for You! Not for anyone else <3 Have an amazing day everyone

I used to wear suits (which I donated when I retired). I worked in offices during the "bad old days" when women weren’t taken that seriously on the job if their clothing was too "casual" or gawd forbid, "suggestive". 🤨
