Why do beach volleyball players wear such revealing outfits?

It's a choice that they make. The rules don't prevent them from wearing more if they choose to. Bikinis haven't been required by the rules since 2012. The Egypt women's team competed in long sleeved tops and leggings, for example.

@SW-User that depends on the country though. In some places it wasn't allowed to wear more as late as 2021.

@NerdyPotato Handball rules are really interesting that they just state that women must wear midriff baring outfits lol
