What happened to the days when men wore suits as casual wear men in the 1950’s men in that era used to dress up in suits as every day apparel?

the 1950's had an interesting style for both men and women. Today its easier to choose either casual or formal or even something in between. If theres anything I hate about the 1950's its just that tailoring was weird.
