Cause hunters see no reason to waste the hide or pelt of an animal they trap or shoot. You might as well use every part of said animal.

Exactly. The native americans used just about every part of the animal to serve a purpose. They considered it disrespectful to mother earth to just leave it out to rot

i've not come across many cultures who do not utilize.
some it feels inhumane though. but still.
