not sure by a button fly is a thing.... a zipper fly is a lot easier and more comfortable

just saying...

or is there actually anybody who prefers a button fly over a zipper fly?

One can have an accident with a zipper fly if in a hurry and careless. Also what happens if the zip sticks?

@Tracos The first has happened to me once. Not too serious but it sure teaches one to be careful.
