Why does everyone wear the same thing?

I see several coworkers wearing brand new vans.
I don't get it. And they are the exact same.
Its very noticeable, everybody searing the same shoe. I say this because I've seen 4 people buy them within the last week or so.

I won't be wearing the same shoes i wore in HS
Not my style.

On another note, i took a sewing class and have learned how to use my machine.
I can't stand the cookie-cutter, generic, trendy junk.

I think a lot of it comes down to convenience. I admire people who spend time creating a unique look because I find fashion and shopping overwhelming a lot of the time. Basic can also mean versatile and cost-effective since you can wear the same thing in many different situations.

@toomuchlove for sure. You can dress up or dress down a white tee or simple black dress for example. I'm okay with basic
