Do you think it’s ok for a 14 year old to wear thigh high socks with a makeshift garter belt?

So I had a bit of an argument with my mom. She always says I can dress the way I want except now she’s saying that it’s inappropriate for me to wear something like that. I usually dress like a boy but I love to wear dresses and skirts because they make me feel pretty. She said it would be inappropriate for me to wear the socks with a dress and is now blaming me wanting to wear them on me watching anime.
What do you guys think?
