What makes people pick up old brands again all of a sudden?

@SW-User could also be your geographical location. Another example is the Champion brand. Very uncool when I was in HS. Now celebs are wearing it and it's popular.
Champion shoes especially, could be found in cheap stores like Payless, so it was uncool.
