is it ok to wear a short skirt in public with shorts underneath

I usually never wear skirts nor dresses in public unless I have to for special occasions. However, over the last year I've been experimenting with clothes, and the other day I stumbled across this beautiful hand painted skirt and decided to buy it. When it came in the mail I immediately tried it on. It fit me in the waist, but it was to short on me. When I sat down I could see my undies through the mirror. 馃槄

I have a pair of shorts for these kind of situations; from when I was a pre-teen and became too tall for my church dresses (but I could still fit into them so I never told my mom). I wore shorts underneath to refrain from exposing myself, and to also keep me from keeping my legs closed lol (I've always sat like a guy). At the time I never thought to think if that was even acceptable to wear shorts underneath my dresses (maybe not in the church's eyes but this skirt is not for church).

No. It completely spoils the allure of the skirt.

The longer the skirt the less it matters what you wear underneath, as your skirts get shorter you need to ensure that anything worn under is not seen. Once a skirt gets below a certain length it becomes impossible to keep underwear covered up and none can be worn.

I suspect that short skirts might not be for you if you do not feel confident wearing appropriate (or no) underwear with them, but forgo the shorts and give it a try - keep your knees together and don't bend at the waist you will probably be fine and really enjoy the short skirt experience.

Whatever happens, no one wants to see your underwear!
